Their program will feature beloved pieces such as Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” and the 1960s hit “The Sunset” by The Moody Blues. Additionally, the audience will be introduced to the ethereal composition “Full Moon Trio” by Slovenian composer Blaz Pucihar and the celestial-influenced harp and flute duet “Angelsong” by Gary Schocker. This musical voyage will guide you through the stars and enchant you with the enchanting combination of the trio’s instruments – flute, harp, and cello.

Axiom String Quartet

The quartet is comprised of Matt Lammers on the violin, Dominika Dancewicz on the violin, Katie Carrington on the viola, and Patrick Moore on the cello. Alejandro Montiel (Classical Guitar)

Soundboard Magazine has hailed guitarist Alejandro Montiel as a “flawless musician, brimming with polished technique.” His performing career has spanned across the continental United States, Mexico, Central America, and Europe. He boasts graduate degrees from both the Peabody Conservatory and the University of Texas at Austin. During his upcoming performance, Alejandro will showcase compositions by Antonio Lauro, Mauro Giuliani, Roland Dyens, and many others.

Rob Landes (Piano)

Rob Landes has been enchanting Promenade Series audiences for more than two decades with his remarkable piano expertise and musical acumen. His charisma and personal charm consistently render this concert a beloved annual event. The performance promises to incorporate audience-requested selections, ensuring an interactive experience. Recently, Rob Landes retired from his longstanding role as Organist/Artist-in-Residence at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston, a position he had held since 1996. Nevertheless, he remains dedicated to composing music and delivering captivating piano concerts.

ArtBeat: Violin & Bass

Established in 2014, ArtBeat is a musical duo comprising Dr. Mark Morton, an Associate Professor of Double Bass at Texas Tech University, and Grace Marin Aguilar, a violinist with the Lubbock Symphony. Their performances showcase a blend of violin and double bass, and they leverage their multi-instrumental skills to incorporate an array of combinations such as violin, guitar, and vocals. While ArtBeat’s repertoire extends beyond classical music, they do include classical pieces in their concert performances.

James Chamberlain, tenor

“My Life Through Music” invites the audience to embark on a musical journey tracing James’ life experiences. The repertoire spans pivotal moments, featuring the first aria James mastered during high school, art songs from his college years, and his inaugural tenor aria. The performance will resonate with three significant milestones from the past 15 years: 17 years of singing at St. Luke’s United Methodist, the initiation of his young artist program at Sarasota Opera, and three transformative summers at Dolora Zajick’s Institute for Young Dramatic Singers. The program boasts compositions by Quilter, Ravel, Schubert, Respighi, and Wagner, alongside fresh arrangements of cherished hymns by Rob Landes.

Houston Brass Quartet

The Houston Brass Quintet is proud to present “Carmen and Other Delights.” Georges Bizet’s iconic opera, Carmen, is a true auditory pleasure. In collaboration with percussionist Jesús Pacheco and arranger Allyn Lindsey, the program promises to be a unique experience. Additionally, the 2023 Call for Scores winner, Nathan Dumrongthai, will showcase his vibrant composition, “Soul Food.” This concert is certain to captivate and charm its audience.
