The Forum
The Forum is the initial building that constitute the Center when it first opened in 1978, as the heart of a splendid community partnership between the private sector, religious sector and Harris County.
The Forum Auditorium seats 270 people in its main level and balcony seating. The intimate room design was patterned after the small stage at Houston’s famous Alley Theater. It is an inspired setting for worship, weddings, concerts, lectures and a variety of community meetings and performances. The flexible seating enables the users to design the performance area to meet their individual needs. There is a permanent Visser-Rowland pipe organ positioned to the right of the stage and a Steinway 7’ Grand Piano.
The Forum Building also includes the Forum Activity Room or Garden Room which is a multi-purpose event space used heavily for a wide variety of functions including wedding receptions, large group meetings, lectures, study groups, and children’s activities.
A nursery and one classroom with adjoining playground are located in the downstairs area and an upstairs classroom and library which is also used for small conference meetings are in the Forum Building.
